| The Ups and Downs of Energy Channeling |

I apologize for the long time between stories. I have been learning quite a bit about
myself and the world around me. In time I will share it all but today I would like to
speak about energy channeling. Most have heard about this type of channeling,
whether it is called Reiki, Chi, Qi, Healing Hands, the Laying on of Hands, Grace (yes,
I said Grace). It is all the same. The idea is to be able to allow this energy to flow
through you and be directed to someone or something else to the benefit of the other.
It has been my experience that energy, all energy is God. It heals us, gives birth to
planets and universes, it is the spark of electricity that makes hearts beat, it propels
plants, insects and animals to grow, it is the movement in the air we call wind, it
illuminates and darkens, it attracts and repels, it restores and destroys. It is God, it is all
things.
How does this channeling thing work? How do we as individuals get the ability to have
God flow through us. (Oops, I said God didn’t I. More on this later). Well we are born
with this ability. For some, it automatically flows through them constantly. They are
naturally in a state of pure giving, love and joy all the time. (I have never met one of
these people but I have been told they exist.) It comes upon the “untrained” in
moments of pure intention as when one hugs someone who is in pain. When the mind
shuts off and the actions are pure compassion and empathy. The energy flows from
“The Source of All That Is” through the being doing the compassionate action into the
one receiving the compassion. A baby falls and cries. You pick up the baby and hold it
close, and the healing energy flows. (God flows). There is no thought, there is just
compassionate action..
How does one go about doing this at will. Well you pick the energy flavor of the week,
whether it be Reiki, Chi, Healing Touch, whatever. Then you pick a teacher and you
learn the steps, where to put your hands, what to say, what to feel, what to see etc.
Then you become a “Healer, a Channel of Energy”. Or so you think. How dare you.
Here in lies the problem. It takes years to truly and fully become a channel of Grace.
Just because you took a class or two never think that is the end. That is just the
beginning. Just as learning to sit up is a far cry from running a race at the Olympics.
Oh, and guess what. It is not about healing another- it is about healing yourself. With
each and every lesson, with each and every channeling session, if done correctly, the
channel becomes clearer. Imagine a garden that has been lying out in the mud for
years. It has dirt, and spider webs and all kinds of things in it. Then somebody hooks it
up to a faucet and turns on the water. At first the stream is but a trickle until the debris
makes its’ way out of the hose little by little. After awhile the water cleans out all the
matter and the stream of water is strong and clear.
This is basically what happens when one channels. Sounds wonderful until you realize
that seeing one’s stuff come to the surface, dealing with it and clearing it out can be a
very “uncomfortable” and lengthy process. Just when one thinks that they have “got it
all together” something sticky from way, way down pops up or something that was
dealt with in the past returns and one realizes that only the first layers were cleared
leaving the heavy stuff for later. Oh Joy! Spiritual Therapy! On the other hand there
are miracles.
Ego is diminished, sight becomes sharper, intuition clearer, faith and trust grow
stronger, wisdom and knowing replace fear and doubt and that is just for starters.
There comes a time when the words and the hand placements are no longer needed.
There comes a time when one can stand in line in the grocery store and the healing
energy will flow through you into the man standing in front. He does not know that the
cancer cells have started to multiply in his body, and neither do you. But God knows,
and the energy knows, and it flows. The cashier has to wait for change, the man looks
at his watch. You wonder if you will be late for work and the energy flows. He
wonders if he can make his 9:30 bus. You try to remember if you locked the door at
home and the energy flows. The money comes, the man gets his change, he leaves
with his grocery bag but he leaves without those cancer cells. You make it to work on
time. The miracle is not that the man was cured, the miracle is that you are fine with
anonymity.
